Ryan Borgardt's passion for fitness grew from his athletic experience and joy training each year to improve his physical performance. Ryan earned his Bachelor's of Science Degree in Exercise and Sport Science from the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse, where he also worked as a Personal Trainer and Sports Performance Intern. After college, Ryan moved to Phoenix and earned his Performance Specialist and Fitness Specialist Certifications while interning at EXOS. Over the last three years, Ryan has trained many different type of clients with awesome and inspiring goals. If you're driven to improve your own life and physical performance, Ryan wants to walk alongside you as your Madison West personal trainer!


Q: Why did you become a personal trainer?
A: I have always thought of the gym space as a refuge.  I wanted to contribute to the positive environment that a gym can become for a person looking to improve their own life.

Erin Behan

BS, ACE | Fitness Professional


Although Erin is an Iowa native she is quickly warming up to Madison and the Wisconsin life. Erin is a graduate of Upper Iowa University with a bachelor’s degree in Exercise and Sports Science. She is also a certified Personal Trainer through American Council of Exercise. As a college student, Erin knew how important it was to stay fit, so she continued to run cross country and track. Her passion for running has continued and she has run several road races including 5ks, 10ks, half marathons, marathons, and recently conquered her first 50k. Through the long hours of training, she knows what sacrifices and dedication go into accomplishing a fitness goal. As a Madison West personal trainer, she looks forward to sharing her passion for fitness with others and helping them reach their individual goals.


Q: Why did you become a personal trainer?
A: I wanted to share my passion for fitness with others. It also doesn’t feel like a “job” to me, it’s fun.

Lauren Birkel

Lauren Birkel started her fitness career as a Madison Personal Trainer with Orange Shoe in 2006 and is the owner of the West and Downtown studios. She manages operations at these two studios as well as trains and coaches clients. Lauren holds a BA degree from UW-Madison and a Master’s degree from the University of Denver. She has held her Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) through the NSCA for 8 years, is a USA Triathlon Certified Coach, Trigger Point and TRX certified.

Q: Why did you become a personal trainer?
A: I’ve always wanted to help people. I find it incredibly rewarding to be a part of someone’s journey to health & wellness – not only being a part of the physical transformation but the emotional and spiritual journey as well. I strongly believe that healthy individuals are happy individuals and, in turn, create positive change all around them.
